Xbox LIVE members all around the world, you can freely download one game from the Xbox LIVE Arcade service. Over the holidays the Microsoft has experienced problems with the Xbox LIVE, the online service offered for the Xbox 360 users.
To make up for its mistake Microsoft is offering its users a free Arcade game. According to an Open Letter by Marc Whitten, General Manager of Xbox LIVE, the problems with Xbox LIVE downtime was "a result of this massive increase in usage".
On the same note Marc also says "This included our largest sign-up of new members to Xbox LIVE in our 5 year history". Even though the free game sounds more like an apology for the issues customers experienced, Microsoft puts it as "At the same time we would like to offer a token of our appreciation to all of you in celebration of record success for the service."
The specific details of the free game download will be disclosed in the coming weeks. Price of an Xbox LIVE game falls any where between $5 to $20. Since I didn’t even use my Xbox over the holidays, its literally a free game for me.
